The Death of a Friend is Equivalent to the Loss of a Limb.

This has been a heart breaking week.

Monday. My dear friend and coworker, Stephen, passed away suddenly in his sleep.
We got the call at the antique mall and we are all devastated. He was only 54 years old. My handsome, witty, fancy friend. That guy with the good hair. I adore him so much and I cannot bear the thought of going back to work without him. Or for him not being there to be the new normal.
Stephen could make everyone around him feel important. If you had a dream, even if you had doubt, he’d tell you that you could do it.          I’d hate to disappoint him.

Tuesday. We lost Dave.
We gained him in our lives when Jayson’s best friend Nathan married into their family. And the Atiya’s claimed us.
Dave had been battling brain cancer for a while, but it doesn’t make it any easier. He was such a bear of a man, a gentle giant…but don’t poke the bear. He loved his family, blood and chosen, so fiercely.
I am so heartbroken for his wife, daughters and little Laith. I hope he always remembers how much his Papaw loved him.

Go hug your loved ones.
